1) Terms & Scope

a) Service Modes: We offer three service options:

One-Time Visit – a single snow removal service.

Vacation Protection Plan – coverage while you’re away, ensuring timely clearing.

Seasonal Plan – up to 20 visits between November 1 and March 31.

b) Vacation Protection: A non-refundable $50 activation fee applies before coverage begins. If snow removal is required while you are away, service will be performed automatically and billed upon your return at the regular one-time visit rate for your property, minus $5 per visit. Photos will be provided as proof of both conditions and completed work.

c) Trigger Depth: Snow clearing begins once 5 cm (2 inches) of new snow has accumulated.

d) Areas Included: Standard service includes the driveway and one front walkway or step area to the main entrance unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2) Service Levels & Timing

a) Timing: Overnight snowfalls (10 p.m.–6 a.m.) will be cleared by approximately 9 a.m. Daytime snowfalls will be cleared within a reasonable timeframe after the snowfall ends.

b) Multiple Passes: Extended or heavy storms may require more than one pass.

c) Equipment: Services are performed using a 27″ walk-behind snowblower and hand shovels. No plow trucks or heavy equipment are used unless otherwise stated.

3) De-icing (Salt)

a) Regular safety salt may be applied to walkways and steps when necessary.

b) Pet-friendly salt is available upon request (additional charge).

c) De-icing reduces but does not eliminate the risk of slipping. Clients should exercise caution between visits.

4) Client Responsibilities

a) Keep the driveway clear of vehicles during service hours.

b) Mark or remove any potential hazards (curbs, cords, decorations, hoses, etc.).

c) Maintain general safety between visits; the Contractor cannot be on-site 24 / 7.

d) Report any property damage within 24 hours of service completion for consideration.

5) Exclusions

a) Service does not include roofs, decks, patios, balconies, or municipal sidewalks (unless specified).

b) Packed tire tracks, wind-blown drifts, or ice buildup from melting and refreezing are not part of standard clearing.

c) The Contractor is not responsible for damage to unmarked or hidden items, such as interlocking edges, extension cords, or lawn features buried in snow.

d) “Snow removal” means clearing snow to a reasonable and safe surface; bare pavement is not guaranteed.

6) Pricing & Payments

a) Pricing: All prices are final and tax-free. The Contractor is not registered for HST.

b) Payment Options: Cash preferred. E-transfer or card payments are also accepted.

c) Payment Terms: Payment may be made per visit, monthly (due the 1st), or in full for seasonal clients. Late payments may result in service suspension or cancellation.

d) Travel Surcharge: A travel fee applies to addresses outside the standard service area (e.g., Alliston or similar distances).

7) Visit Caps

Seasonal plans include up to 20 visits per season. Additional visits, if requested, are billed at the regular per-visit rate.

8) Documentation

Photos and/or time-stamped records may be taken for quality control, proof of service, and insurance protection. These may be securely stored by the Contractor.

9) Liability, Indemnity & Insurance

The Contractor will perform services with reasonable skill and care consistent with industry standards. However, snow and ice control inherently involve uncontrollable conditions. The Contractor assumes no liability for slips, falls, re-freezing, or damage caused by pre-existing conditions, hidden objects, or subsequent weather changes.

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless SDG Services and its personnel from all claims, damages, or losses arising out of or related to snow removal services. Liability, if any, shall be limited to the total amount paid by the Client for that season.

10) Service Suspension & Force Majeure

Services may be delayed or suspended due to extreme weather, unsafe conditions, mechanical issues, or other events beyond the Contractor’s control. Work will resume as soon as safely possible without penalty to either party.

11) Acceptance of Agreement

By scheduling or purchasing snow removal services, the Client acknowledges having read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

Electronic or handwritten signatures are equally binding under the Ontario Electronic Commerce Act, 2000.

12) Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ontario, Canada.
